EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The Montgomery County Mental Health/Mental Retardation/Drug and Alcohol Program is in need of qualified candidates for various employment opportunities.  The MH/MR/D&A staff are employees of Montgomery County but must be determined qualified for vacancies through testing provided by the Pennsylvania State Civil Service Commission.

 

                                      Current Vacancies

 

Caseworker 2 - $37,062   (Entry level)

Minimum Qualifications:

 ~Pennsylvania Resident

 ~Eligible per Civil Service   Test # LO624

 ~Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1   OR

   Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program;  OR

   Bachelor's degree with a social welfare major  OR

   Bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in

   sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one

   year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency; OR

   Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social

   welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.   

~Appear on a CS Employment or Promotional list and be within reach for

  appointment, Or be eligible for reinstatement from resignation based on prior

  permanent CS status in that class.

 

Caseworker I - $35,037 (Entry level)

Minimum Qualifications:

~Pennsylvania Resident

~Eligible per Civil Service     Test # L0623

  A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college

  credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related

  social sciences;  OR

  Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level

  course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology,

  gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as

  a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case

  management functions.

~Appear on a CS Employment of Promotional list and be within reach for appointment Or be

  eligible for reinstatement from resignation based on prior permanent CS status in that class.

 

 

Clerk Typist 2 - $25,615 (Entry level)

 Minimum Qualifications:

 ~Pennsylvania Resident

 ~Eligible per Civil Service requirements  Test # L0032

   Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; OR 

   Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; OR

   Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

 ~Appear on a CS Employment or Promotional list and be within reach for appointment, OR

    be eligible for reinstatement from resignation based on prior permanent CS status in that class.
